Family Photography

FAQ
This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
First, you don't need to know how to pose or feel comfortable in front of a camera - that's my job! Before your session, we'll talk about what you're looking for, choose a location, and plan outfits and details so you feel prepared. During the session, I'll guide you with natural prompts and direction while giving you plenty of opportunities to simply be yourself. My goal is for the experience to feel relaxed, enjoyable, and personal - not stiff or overly posed.
Are the travel expenses included in your packages?
Travel within my standard service area throughout Northern Virginia and Washington, DC is included in your session fee. For locations outside of the standard service area, a travel fee may apply. If you're considering a location farther away, I'll always let you know about any additional travel costs before we book.
Can you recommend any good locations?
Absolutely! Location can make a huge difference in the look and feel of your photographs, and I'm happy to help you find the right setting. I have favorite locations throughout Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, from beautiful parks and waterfronts to historic neighborhoods and urban settings. I'll recommend locations based on the type of session you're planning, the season, and the overall look you're hoping to achieve.
What if the weather is bad on the day of an outdoor shoot?
We'll keep an eye on the forecast together as your session approaches. If the weather is unsafe or conditions are likely to significantly affect your experience, we'll reschedule for another date at no additional cost. If the forecast is uncertain, we'll make a decision as we get closer to your session rather than canceling too early. And sometimes a little cloud cover or unexpected weather creates some of the most beautiful and dramatic photographs!
